  • Diversity & Inclusion Supporting Assessment Practices

Effective innovations in assessments practices are responsive to diverse students and enhance student achievements. Students for example are diverse in terms of for example gender, age, ethnicity, culture, sexuality, socio economic background, ability, religion and life aspirations. This workshop is designed to provide practical support to teachers creating and developing assessment materials and practices to meet current student and end user needs.

  • Developing Culturally Intelligent Practices

This workshop empowers those attending to develop the awareness, knowledge and skills to more effectively work with people who are different to them.

  • Implementing the Treaty of Waitangi in the Workplace

This interactive workshop briefly examines the historic events that led to the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840 then focusses on how to implement the principles identified by the 1988 Royal Commission on Social Policy. The workshop focuses on how the principles can be utilised positively to support change, equity and outcomes for all. Participants will develop understandings they can implement in their workplace.

  • Understanding Evaluation

What is evaluation? What does quality evaluation produce? Are just two of the questions this workshop focusses on? In the past we assessed, audited and performance appraised but evaluation is today increasingly being used due to the value it can add to people and organisations who wish to assess value. Evaluation is a research methodology that can help us to gain a more accurate picture of whatever we apply this methodology to and where to go next. A key outcome of quality evaluation is not just a list of what is wrong and needs improved but also what is of value and a strength. In this interactive workshop a range of evaluation methods will be reviewed and practiced alongside criteriaabout what quality evaluations produce.

  • Emotional Intelligence to Improve Productivity

This workshop supports individuals, teams and organisations to develop understandings the components and capabilities that make up Emotional Intelligence (EI) through enjoyable activities. Participants will also be provided with an opportunity to evaluate their own EI profile and to learn about activities they can undertake to further enhance their capabilities. Finally the workshop supports participants to use their understandings of EI to develop ways to improve their own, team or organisational productivity levels.
